We do not publish a square metre rate, because a rate quoted without a specification tells you nothing and is exactly how under quoting happens. We inspect the block and give you a free written quote stating thickness, reinforcement, concrete strength and finish, so you can compare it fairly against any other quote you hold.

For standard cars, 100 mm on a properly compacted base with steel mesh reinforcement is the accepted minimum. Where caravans, boats, trailers or work trucks will use the driveway we increase thickness and reinforcement to suit the load, commonly to 125 mm or more. We demolish and remove the old slab, correct the base problems that caused the failure, protect fences, garage doors and gardens throughout, and pour the new driveway to the specification your vehicles genuinely need. Fixing the cause is the part that determines whether the new driveway lasts.

Exposed aggregate or a broom finish, because both hold grip when the surface is wet. On steeper falls through Nerang and Mudgeeraba we also design the layout so stormwater is caught and directed rather than sheeting down the surface, which protects both the driveway and the garage behind it.

Keep vehicles off for a minimum of seven days. Concrete continues gaining strength for around 28 days, so we also recommend keeping heavy vehicles, caravans and boats off for the first month. Foot traffic is generally fine after 24 to 48 hours. We confirm timing for your specific pour and the weather conditions at handover.

Most residential driveways are poured within one to two days once preparation and formwork are complete. Allow an extra day where an old driveway has to be demolished and removed. Curing time then has to be respected before the surface can carry vehicles, which is the part that cannot be rushed.
